II. Eligibility for application
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, with good conduct, good health, and excellent grades, consciously abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and the rules and regulations of Anhui Medical University, and respect Chinese manners and customs.
2. Educational background and age requirements
① Apply for a bachelor's degree: have graduated from high school or have an equivalent educational level, aged 18-25 years old;
② Apply for a master's degree: have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, apply for the program similar to your undergraduate program, aged 18-35 years old;
③ Apply for a doctoral degree: have a master's degree or equivalent, apply for the program similar to your postgraduate program or undergraduate program, aged 18-45 years old;
Chinese-taught program: Able to learn the program in Chinese; the Chinese ability should at least reach the level 4 of Chinese Language Proficiency Scales for Speakers of Other Languages (HSK4).
English-taught program: Able to learn the program in English. Applicants who are not from English-speaking countries must submit IELTS, TOEFL or other English test scores (IELTS scores are no lower than 6.0; TOEFL online test scores are no lower than 85; other English proficiency test scores refer to IELTS and TOEFL scores). Applicants who speak English as their mother tongue or have taken English as the medium of instruction in their previous stage (education) should submit their English scores and certificates issued by their schools. Applicants with basic knowledge of Chinese are preferred.
1. Application time for self-funded academic students: From January 1, 2022 to July 1, 2022.
2. For the scholarship program, please refer to the Admissions Guide of Anhui Medical University's Scholarship Program for Studying in China in 2022.
Applicants must submit the application materials to the email address (ahmugjjy@ahmu.edu.cn) of the official website of the School of International Education, Anhui Medical University, or send paper materials directly to our University for application. Scholarship applicants shall refer to the Admissions Guide of Anhui Medical University's Scholarship Program for Studying in China in 2022. The following materials must be submitted for online registration:
① Passport (within the period of validity) photo page;
② Physical Examination Form for Foreigners and Blood Examination Report;
③ Notarized Chinese or English version of the highest academic graduation certificate, degree certificate and transcript;
④ HSK4 and above certificates (required by applicants of Chinese teaching programs);
⑤ Proof of English proficiency (ability) (required by applicants of English teaching programs);
⑥ Personal resume and study plan;
⑦ Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors (required by applicants of postgraduate programs);
⑧ Guarantee materials for family economic situation (required by applicants of self-funded programs);
⑨ Certificate of No Criminal Conviction.
The first round of preliminary review of students' application materials is conducted by the teachers of the Admission Office, and the second round of review is conducted by the Leader’s Panel for Admissions of International Students in China, focusing on the review of student's academic level, study plan, English level, existing research results, future research plans (postgraduates) and other materials.
For applicants of master and doctoral degrees, the School will hand over the information of applicants who have passed the preliminary review to the training unit. The training unit will organize relevant advisors to form an assessment team, and comprehensively assess the applicants who have passed the preliminary review mainly in the students' educational background, development potential, scientific research achievements, academic level, innovation ability, etc. (the interview is conducted by video, telephone or mail, etc.).
After international students enter China, the University implements the entrance examination system for freshmen, which mainly includes written examination and interviews. The written examination includes five subjects: biology, mathematics, chemistry, physics and English, and the interview mainly includes two aspects: learning ability and comprehensive quality. The School gives academic warnings to the students whose comprehensive examination scores rank lowest (the 5% students whose entrance examination scores rank lowest in a class).
VI. Admission and registration
1. The University issues the admission letters and JW201 forms (or JW202 forms) to the admitted students. The admitted students must apply for X1 visa within the time specified in the admission letters, and arrive at the University to register with all the application materials and the original copy of admission materials. If you cannot arrive at the University to register for special reasons, you must ask for leave to Anhui Medical University in advance in writing. If you don’t arrive at the University to register two weeks after the specified time without informing the University, your admission qualification will be canceled.
2. During the COVID-19, the University will inform the admitted students of the registration and education management matters according to the relevant national and regional requirements.

According to relevant Chinese laws and regulations, international students must live in the student dormitory in the first year, and can apply for living outside the University from the second year by submitting materials and according to relevant management regulations.
Applicants can apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Anhui Provincial Government Scholarship, China-ASEAN Scholarship, and others.
